You Can't Fix What You Can't Find

An abnormal noise complaint, an unpermitted operation, or a suspected illegal source rarely announces itself clearly. By the time an inspector arrives, the site is loud, complex, and the specific machine or activity responsible is buried in background noise — and it may stop before a manual walk-through can pin it down.

An acoustic imager solves the actual bottleneck: instead of walking the site listening by ear, a microphone array visualizes where sound is coming from in real time, overlaid directly on a live camera image. What used to take an experienced inspector several passes can take seconds.

Typical Workflow Running a Rapid Source-Identification Check

  • 1. Calibrate

    Field-check the sound level meter against a Class 1 calibrator before heading out, so every reading taken on-site is traceable.

  • 2. Scan

    Sweep the imager across the site or complaint area and watch the sound pressure overlay to see where the signal concentrates.

  • 3. Verify

    Move in on the indicated source, take a calibrated level reading, and check the spectrum to characterize what it actually is.

  • 4. Record

    Save the image, video, level and spectrum together with a timestamp, building a record that ties the finding to the evidence.
