    Product Description

    The AWA6160 Ear Simulator is an acoustic coupler that simulates the acoustic characteristics of the human ear. It is used together with a φ12.7 mm (1/2 inch) pressure-type condenser measuring microphone (Model AWA14422) and a preamplifier (Model 14601B). In conjunction with matching audio measurement and analysis instruments, it is used to measure the electro-acoustic characteristics of electro-acoustic transducers (earphones/receivers, headphones) and telephone sets.
    The AWA6160 Ear Simulator is designed and manufactured in accordance with GB 7614-87 "Wide-band Ear Simulator for the Calibration of Audiometric Earphones," which is equivalent to the IEC 318 standard "An IEC Artificial Ear, of the Wide Band Type, for the Calibration of Earphones Used in Audiometry." For this reason, the ear simulator is also known as the IEC 318 Ear Simulator (or IEC 318 Ear). Its outer coupling cavity has a volume of 2.5 cm³.
